2010 SOTV SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

Each year the Song of the Valley Chorus awards a scholarship in memory of SOTV
chorus members who have passed on. The scholarship is given to a young woman,
graduating from a high school in Orange County ,who will be continuing her vocal music
studies at a college or music academy.
The 2010 winner of the $500 Song of the Valley Memorial Scholarship is Leslie Tucker,
Middletown, NY. Leslie is a versatile and accomplished student who wants to sing on
Broadway. In addition to roles in local productions of Rent and Little Shop of Horrors,
her musical experience includes three years as a member of the All-County Chorus and
performing in three highly selective choral groups in her high school.
In the fall, Leslie will be attending Russell Sage College, where she has earned a significant,
annually renewable scholarship in the field of Musical Theatre, . Song of the Valley is very
proud to be able to assist this talented young woman as she pursues her musical career.
