Rosemary Wisniewski   -   2010 Woman of Note

Song of the Valley is very proud to announce Rosemary Wisniewski as our 2010 Woman of Note.
Rosemary joined Sweet Adelines International, Song of the Valley Chapter in April 2000.  Although
she is quite capable of singing any of the four parts, she prefers to sing bass and is also Assistant
Bass Section Leader.      Her dedication to Song of the Valley includes being a member of our Show
Committee, Music Team, Management Team, and currently serving as our Membership Chair.
Rosemary also created and maintains our website
www.songofthevalleychorus.com.   She was
formerly our Tape Librarian (shows you how long ago) and currently is our Sheet Music Librarian,
always providing sheet music for current as well as potential members.

For the past five years, she has taken on the enormous task of creating our 100-page Show Program,
asking for help only with proofreading before sending it to the printers.
She is one of our members who volunteer her assistance when help is needed.   She also serves as
an Assistant Editor of our weekly information sheet/calendar that we call “SOTV Notes”.

As a wonderful friend to all, Rosemary truly puts the sister into this sisterhood that we call Sweet
Adelines.  We congratulate her on winning this prestigious annua
l award.

         BONNIE D'JOVIN     -    2009 WOMAN OF NOTE

Song of the Valley is very proud to announce Bonnie D'Jovin as our 2009 Woman of Note.   Bonnie
joined Sweet Adelines and SOTV in 1997, beginning as a bass and now singing lead. In 1998, Bonnie
was enlisted by the Team Coordinator to help keep the chapter viable through a difficult period.  From
that time forward, Bonnie has served the chorus in numerous ways.    Following is a sample listing of
her contributions:

*  Served on the Management Team since 2002, taking only one year off during
that time.  Elected Secretary in 2003, a position she held for five years.
*  Assumed on-going responsibility for creating, updating and distributing
membership rosters, chapter  property records, rehearsal cancellation
    procedures and chapter information sheets.;  managing the mailbox system;
editing weekly e-newsletters; and managing orders of official SOTV shirts.
*  Served on numerous committees, including Long-Range Planning, and
chaired Education, Ways and Means, Sunshine, Angel Fund, Standing Rules,
    Show and Membership.
*  Supported competition preparation by creating chapter retreat agendas,
information sheets, and competition booklets.  Also, coordinated 2008 the
    competition transportation.

Equally as valuable, but less visible, is the work Bonnie has done, and continues to do, on an ad hoc
basis.  She is the first to help out with anything that needs doing.  Her dedication to the chorus is
exceptional, and she often exclaims, "I LOVE my chorus!".

Lastly, Bonnie's personal traits are admirable.  She is a woman who effectively deals with, works
through and accepts the ups and downs that are found from time to time in any group.  She is always
open and honest with others and treats everyone fairly.  The superb quality of her work and her
reliability are legendary in the chapter.

We are delighted to salute a woman who has done so much and has truly earned the respect of us all.
